0001 - Course Objectives
ARES Kudo is Graebert’s online CAD application for creating, editing, viewing, and collaborating on DWG drawings directly in a web browser. Its interface and workflows will be familiar to users of desktop CAD applications such as ARES Commander, AutoCAD, and other DWG-based CAD solutions.
The key difference between ARES Kudo and traditional desktop CAD software is that it runs directly in your web browser, without requiring any local installation. To start working with ARES Kudo, simply visit www.kudo.graebert.com.
This course provides a complete learning path for working with 2D DWG drawings in a cloud-based CAD environment. It begins with the fundamental tools required to create and edit drawings and progressively introduces more advanced workflows for drawing organization, project management, and collaboration.
At the introductory level, you will learn how to access ARES Kudo and start creating and editing 2D DWG drawings directly in your browser. You will become familiar with essential drawing and editing tools such as Line, Polyline, Trim, Extend, and Offset, as well as coordinate systems, layers, blocks, hatches, dimensions, and layouts.
As the course progresses, you will explore more advanced workflows. These include working with external references (Xrefs) to coordinate multiple DWG files, creating and managing nested blocks, and working with parametric blocks and blocks with attributes.
You will also learn how to organize drawings for professional presentation by creating sheets, configuring views at different scales, and structuring drawing information efficiently.
Another important part of the course focuses on the cloud-based collaboration capabilities of ARES Kudo. Comments, reviews, markups, and other collaboration tools make it easier for team members, clients, and stakeholders to review drawings and exchange feedback without relying exclusively on desktop CAD software.
In this course you will learn how to:
- Create and edit 2D DWG drawings directly in a web browser.
- Use essential drawing and modification commands.
- Work efficiently with coordinates, layers, blocks, hatches, and dimensions.
- Organize drawings using layouts and views at different scales.
- Use external references to coordinate multiple DWG files.
- Create and manage nested blocks.
- Understand the possibilities of parametric blocks and blocks with attributes.
- Prepare drawings and sheets for professional presentation.
- Use ARES Kudo collaboration tools for comments, reviews, and markups.
- Improve CAD workflows in a cloud-based working environment.
This course is ideal for:
- Beginners who want to learn 2D CAD using a modern cloud-based solution.
- CAD users who want to transition from desktop software to browser-based workflows.
- Users of ARES Commander, AutoCAD, AutoCAD LT or similar DWG-based applications who want to work with CAD in the cloud.
- Experienced CAD users transitioning from desktop software to a browser-based workflow.
- Professionals who want to improve project organization and collaboration.
- Teams that need to review, share, and coordinate DWG drawings online.
No previous experience with ARES Kudo is required.
Previous experience with 2D CAD can be helpful, especially when progressing through the more advanced sections of the course, but the course introduces the essential concepts and tools required to follow the lessons.
You will need a Graebert Account and access to ARES Kudo with the appropriate editing capabilities. You can also start with the available 30-day trial.
