If you have already completed the ARES Kudo Collaboration Features course, you may skip the introductory content and proceed directly to Module 02 – First Steps with ARES Kudo.
However, we recommend watching the video explaining how to prepare a template, as it provides useful information for working with ARES Kudo. If you decide to skip the rest of this module, remember to open each lesson and click the Complete and continue button to record your progress and unlock the next lesson.

This module also explains how to create a free Graebert account, which is required to activate either a purchased license or a free 30-day trial.
When starting a new drawing in ARES Kudo, you can choose from the default templates provided by the program. However, as you progress through the course, you will see that many drawing settings need to be adapted to your specific requirements.
These settings may include units, text styles, dimension styles, layers, linetypes, hatch patterns, blocks, and Paper Space sheets. If you regularly work on similar types of projects, you will probably use many of these settings repeatedly.
Instead of recreating the same drawing environment every time you start a new project, you can prepare your own customized template—or several templates for different types of work. This allows you to start each new drawing with the standards, resources, and settings you need already in place.
In this module you will learn how to:
- Understand the basic ARES Kudo workflow.
- Create and use a Graebert account.
- Create a custom drawing template.
- Configure drawing units.
- Load and configure text and dimension styles.
- Create a set of pre-configured base layers.
- Add commonly used blocks to the drawing.
- Load commonly used linetypes and hatch patterns.
- Configure Paper Space sheets for consistent layouts.
